New Life For An Old Mirror

Updated: Jun 13, 2021

As bathroom mirrors age, they often begin to deteriorate around the edges (known as desilvering). Many times, you'll start to see a blackening and loss of shine around the outer perimeter. Is this the end of that particular mirror. We think not. But instead, it is an opportunity to create something new and unique and do so very affordably while at the same time, saving the mirror.

In the photo above, we have chosen to create a beach theme for the mirror. Using distressed shiplap boards and beach decorative items, we trimmed the mirror (hiding the damaged areas) and highlighted our theme with the flip flops and beach sign at the top.
